Monomix HD is a high strength, waterproof, shrinkage compensated, standard density mortar with good abrasion resistance for the structural repair, rendering and profiling of vertical, overhead and horizontal surfaces including trafficked areas.
MONOMIX HD will provide lasting, reliable repairs to structural surfaces. The manufacturer’s investment in concrete chemistry and technology ensure the mortar will harden rapidly, without sacrificing density or strength. Requiring only clean water to mix with a float and a trowel to apply, MONOMIX HD will provide efficient, enduring repairs for patching imperfections and rendering larger areas alike.
MONOMIX HD was utilised in multi-billion pound developments and upgrades to London’s Tube network by Crossrail, as the chosen mortar solution for improvements to Bond Street station’s coving and flooring works. Providing a durable, high strength and waterproof solution, MONOMIX HD ensured a cleaner and safer walking surface to the station, most noticeably in the tube’s signature transition from floor to wall.
MONOMIX HD has also been deployed in projects such as the Bloomberg London building, Boathouse 4 within Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, and Colchester’s water utility infrastructure.
One pack will yield 13.1 litres, 76.3 packs per m³ to a 2,100kg/m3 and can be applied to areas requiring between 5mm and 80mm of mortar. At 20°C, flexural strength will be at 56.5MPa 28 days after application.
MONOMIX HD should not be prepared in a normal concrete mixer; the mortar must be mechanically mixed using either a forced action pan mixer or drill and a paddle in a clean drum.
It should not be used when the temperature is below 5°C. Although a primer is not usually necessary, BONDING BRIDGE 842 should be applied prior to repairing highly porous substrates.
