BBC DIY SOS

resapol

On the 15th of September our Leigh depot was contacted by the BBC DIY SOS team in order to supply the Manchester Veterans project with Barrier Foam.
DIY SOS, a BBC produced programme, is a TV show that looks to aid people and families in need – building teams come in and renovate and refurbish peoples houses, changing their lives for the better.
The BBC team are currently seeking help with their project to help transform streets into an army veterans’ community. Presenter Nick Knowles and his team are currently refurbishing homes on Canada Street and New Street, in Newton Heath, for former army servicemen and women to live in with their families.
The finished properties will give the veterans the chance to get on the housing ladder, with options including shared equity, discount purchase and rent to buy. The main aim of the project is to create a veterans’ housing community within the existing community; veterans, with help from charity Walking With The Wounded, have also been re-trained in construction trades and will also be part of the building team!
We were glad to supply Barrier Foam, free of charge, for the project.
