MasterEmaco S 488, thixotropic type, is a ready-to-use one component product in powder form. Mixed with water, it provides a thixotropic, high strength mortar with high bond to steel and concrete. MasterEmaco S 488, thixotropic type, mortar shrinkcompensated both in the fresh and in the hardened state; it is impermeable and extremely durable even in highly aggressive ambients. MasterEmaco S 488 is reinforced with polyacronitrile (PAN) fibers, contains hydraulic binders and Portland cement (HSR LA), but no metallic aggregate and is chloride free. MasterEmaco S 488 is a low chromate product (Cr-VI) < 2 ppm It is recommended, for sprayed or trowelled applications, in repair jobs thickness up to 40 mm in only one layer, for
higher thickness, the application in several layers is recommended. MasterEmaco S 488 is applied mechanically or by trowel. Cement mortars should always be damp cured or a curing compound should be applied to prevent water evaporation. However, even without such protection, MasterEmaco S 488 does not show cracks as usually occurs when using mortars which has not been protected adequately during the first 24 hours of
curing.
